Golden Vanilla Celebration Cake

Golden Vanilla Celebration Cake

Ingredients

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 ½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
1 cup Golden Wing® Barley Milk
½ cup heavy cream (optional, for frosting)
2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)

Instructions

1 Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
2 In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
3 In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
4 Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the Golden Wing® Barley Milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
5 Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
6 Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
7 For the frosting, beat the heavy cream and powdered sugar together until light and fluffy. Frost the cooled cake as desired and serve.
